Meet the Fire Behind INARA
Nina: Honestly? I didn’t grow up dreaming of starting a candle brand. I was just trying to survive. In 2012, I was diagnosed with blood cancer. What followed changed everything — the way I think, the way I live, the way I feel. After surviving that, I knew I’d never go back to just existing. I wanted to create something that helped people feel alive again. INARA was born from that fire.
Nina: INARA means light -- but not the soft, gentle kind. It’s the kind that burns. It represents rebirth. Transformation. It’s for the people who’ve been through hell and decided to make art from their ashes.
Nina: We’re not selling scents. We’re selling energy. Most candle brands talk about calm and coziness. That’s not us. INARA is bold. Every candle is tied to a mindset — from discipline to desire. You don’t just light a candle. You light a fire in you.
Nina: Not even close. We started in our apartment. No budget. No team. Just me, some wax, and the refusal to play small. I’ve cried over wick sizes. I've questioned everything. But I never let the flame die. That’s what INARA is — choosing to show up when no one’s watching.
